In my professional life, I am a judge in specialist courts. This is all very serious, so when I am not working I try not to be too serious at all! I try to be a modest and kind man. While I am a little bit introverted I am friendly and open. I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing nice things.

One of my values is that everyone is equal. The test of a person is how they treat other people. At a restaurant, do you treat the waitress kindly? I hope so. Anyone who is arrogant to a waitress is not going to be a nice person, in my opinion. What do you think?

Politically, I lean to the ‘left’. I think we should look out for each other as a society. I am a Christian but my faith is quite private and personal. I am not a religious person. Rather, I am a man of faith.

I am divorced (twice) and have two teenaged children my heir is nearly 19 and my spare is nearly 16) from my first marriage. They live with their mother but I look after them every other weekend. I am lucky that they are both wonderful, kind young men!

I prefer a strong, independent woman. A woman who has her own mind and opinions. I don’t mind what career my mate has, she could be a nurse or an engineer, a waitress or a scientist.
