Hello there from Ottawa, Canada :-)
Nearing my 60's, I am looking for a fun, kind, loving, joyous man to get to know, as a new best friend to slide into my 'Golden Years' with.
Honesty, self-determination, courage, creativity, empathy, positivity, trustworthiness, generosity and healthy self-esteem are all important to me.
I am kind, loving, caring, optimistic, faithful, present, fun, creative, self-assured but not arrogant, and always working on humility and self-improvement, to be the best person that I can be :-)
I am retired from Sales & Marketing, but I actually studied Fine Arts at an Art Academy in Liege, Belgium, where I grew up in the late 70's. I'm a dual Canada/US citizen.
My interests include spirituality, psychology, travel, history, healthy living, Nature, the outdoors (especially ocean locales), literature, the Arts, and politically, I consider myself conservative. I guess that makes me an old-fashioned gal, but please don't mistake that for being stuffy LOL. I love to have fun and am very playful. Doing impromptu activities on the spur of the moment is exciting (with the right person!) My musical tastes are eclectic and run the gamut from chamber music, to Russian, German & French classical, to progressive jazz (Pat Metheny), to reggae, to New Wave, to older Brit rock (Genesis, Yes), to alternative (such as Talking Heads, The Cure etc)... and having been 'reared in the 'art world', I am especially drawn to GOOD talent, not just what most people call art nowadays! Not to brag, butI have been told that I have exquisite taste in everything Art, Music, Design, etc.
I love to cook and really enjoy Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Portuguese, Spanish, Lebanese, Iranian, Mexican and any other great cuisine.
As far as exercise is concerned, I have never been a fitness fanatic, but I keep my weight in check and I enjoy walking, am rusty at skiing, but could pick it up again, bike-riding, swimming and a little tennis (also rusty). I would support any of your sports or fitness enjoyment of course. Staying healthy is so important. I say this explicitly as I had an ovarian cancer scare, was treated two years ago but am now cancer-free! Thank you God! (I firmly believe in the power of prayer and I was SO blessed to not only have a great team of physicians, but all of my family and dear friends who held prayer vigils for me throughout, and I am convinced that the power of sincere, loving prayer healed me)...
I have traveled extensively, all over Europe, South Korea, Morocco, Guam, Israel, and have lived in Belgium, the USA, Hawaii (where my son was born - interesting fact: in the same hospital as Barack Obama, so they say lol). Canada and Puerto Rico and I currently live in Ottawa Canada.

I would say that one of the most important qualities I am looking for in a man would be a great sense of humor. I particularly love British dry, kooky humor, which is why I am searching for a British man!
There is nothing more powerful than laughter, so if you can make me laugh out loud and often, you may be my guy LOL! That and being humble and down-to-earth, despite your refinement. There's nothing I find so attractive as a well-educated and refined man who plays it down and who hasn't an overblown sense of importance.
Be cool, be casual, don't sweat the small stiff and be REAL :-) Oh, and I believe that I am a sapiophile, but for humor!
If you are egotistical, selfish, into playing mind games, a snob, negative, have a "victim" mentality, have any addictions or unresolved emotional issues, or God forbid, if you are an abusive narcissist, you need not apply!
